Infrared heating foil for floors:
The infrared heating foil has been specifically designed for the energy-efficient, electric underfloor heating.

Basically, a silver-carbon layer is applied between two 0.2 mm thin foils resembling two filmstrips via a photographic technology. This layer starts to warm up when affected by electricity, however, even in continuous operation, its temperature never reaches above 50 degrees Celsius. This is a tenfold protection, as the unit could only be damaged if the heating film would burn, however, that only happens at several hundred degrees. The heating film does not get warmer than 60 degrees Celsius, even without regulations. The output / sq. m. usually is between 80 and 220 watts. In case of buildings properly insulated buildings, 80-100W/sq. m. could be sufficient, the value is always determined by the energy needs of the room in question. The heating foil is available in 500 an 1000 mm widths, out of which, 450 and 950 mm are the active parts, respectively. As gluing anything directly onto the heating foil is not allowed, this type is not usable under cold cladding (tiles)! (We recommend the Mat Heating mat for usage under tiles). It can only be used under PVC and carpets with HEAT-PAK (wood fiber) shim.
It basically is a multitude of heating wires laminated between two polyester discs bordered by copper discs on a silver wire base on both sides, where it has to be connected to the electrical system. There is a 1 cm distance between the circuits of the heating foil, allowing customization according to the size of the room.

Heating foils distributed by us have performances ranging between 40 and 200 W / m, and are 500-1000 mm wide. Their thickness is, depending on placement, between 0.3 and 0.4 mm. The load on a foil placed on the floor is significantly higher, so this product is thicker, while the one designed for ceiling use is thinner.

This technology provides even heat distribution while the surface temperature is only 25-35 °C. This lower structural heat difference significantly lowers the amount of leaking heat. As the heating foil is placed directly under the floor, drywall, carpet, etc., there are no unnecessarily heated layers, like concrete or plastering lyers that would only consume the invested energy, so its energy utilization is significantly more efficient, and so it its energy consumption!

The most important principle regarding a heating foil or heating mat placed on the floor is that our old floor or concrete base shall have at lest 2x4 cms of step-proof insulation! If that does not exist, you are going to heat the ground or the room under you with lots of additional energy.

It is perfectly able to heat wood houses, attics, lightweight buildings, and its highly beneficial as the heating system of brick or passive houses!

Design principles for installation: •Only usable at dry constructions - cannot be placed at concrete or cement bonds! •The furnishing of the room can not exceed 30%! •The heating foil shall not be placed in wet areas (bathroom, laundry, etc) or outside environments. •The foil shall, in all cases, be covered with a polyethylene (LDPE) foil with thickness of at least 0.25 mm - standard installation requirements •The heating foil (including the connectors) must not show signs of breaks, overlaps, or uninsulated metal parts. •Overlaps can only appear at the edge of the foil! (not an active surface) •The electronic system of the heating foil must be connected to the circuit breaker system of the house (EV relay) with a breaking value of 20mA (the leaking electricity value of heating foils is 0.92 mA / sq. m.) •The serial connection of the foils should exceed 10A amperage

Infrared heating foil for the ceiling: The infrared heating foil has been specifically designed for the energy-efficient, electric ceiling heating.

As the temperature of the cladding (drywall on the ceiling) cannot exceed 38 °C, the foils have been sized in a way that does not allow them to reach this temperature. The output / sq. m. usually is between 40 and 220 watts. In case of buildings insulated very well (passive houses), 80-100 W/ sq. m. might be adequate. The heating foil is available in 500 an 1000 mm widths, out of which, 450 and 950 mm are the active parts, respectively. We usually advise using 500 mm wide foils on the ceiling, due to easier installation. As it is not allowed to directly glue anything onto the heating foil, we fasten them to a pre-made wood structure with a stapler, paying attention to only placing the staples in the inactive rows! The thickness of heating foils is 0.3-0.4 mm! Thus we can state that this system has a significantly more efficient energy utilization and thus energy usage!
